Augen Mar Dionysius passed away

Augen Mar Dionysius, Metropolitan of Idukki diocese of Indian Orthodox Church
was taken into the heavenly abode today (Wednesday, June 06, 2007) at 10 am. 55 years old Mar Dionysius died
in a car accident on his way to Kumali. St. Thomas Indian Orthodox Church Washington DC. is paying her homage to
the great father and leader of the Church.

He was born to Mathai Kurian and Saramma in 1952 at Ranni in Pathanamthitta district.
Became a priest in 1980 and served as the private secretary to H.H. Baselios Marthoma Mathews I for 16 years and the manager of Vallikkadu Dayara more than 30 years. Ordained as a Bishop on March 5, 2005.
